NIISQ
NIISQ Support Services
Community Care Foundation is a registered provider supporting participants of the National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ).
NIISQ is a no-fault scheme that provides lifetime, reasonable and necessary treatment, care and support for people who have sustained eligible serious personal injuries from a motor vehicle accident in Queensland.
We work alongside NIISQ participants to provide personalised supports that promote independence, wellbeing, choice and participation in everyday life.
What Is NIISQ?
NIISQ supports people who have experienced significant injuries, including (but not limited to):
- Spinal cord injuries
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Severe burns
- Multiple or severe limb amputations
- Permanent blindness caused by trauma
- Other serious injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents
Eligible participants may receive a range of supports including rehabilitation, treatment, personal care, equipment, home modifications, respite and ongoing assistance to support their individual needs.
How We Support NIISQ Participants
Our team works with each participant to understand what is important to them and provide support that reflects their goals, preferences and lifestyle.
Our NIISQ supports may include:
Personal Care & Daily Living Support
Assistance with everyday activities while respecting each person’s privacy, dignity and independence. This may include:
- Personal care routines
- Meal preparation and support
- Household tasks
- Establishing and maintaining daily routines
Attendant Care & In-Home Support
Flexible support to help participants remain safe, comfortable and supported in their own home.
Community Participation
Support to access the community, attend appointments, participate in activities and maintain connections with family, friends and community.
Transport Support
Assistance to attend appointments, activities and other important commitments.
Respite & Short-Term Support
Support options that provide participants and their families or carers with flexibility and time to recharge, while ensuring participants continue to receive safe and consistent support.
Working Together
We collaborate with NIISQ participants, their support networks and other professionals involved in their care to ensure supports remain aligned with their needs and goals.
